I know that of course but what does that change to what I said? They haven't updated the BIOS for ages and I don't think that will magically change with the arrival of the AGESA 1.2.0.Cc firmware, so frankly and sincerely don't expect much from there, that's all I said and I don't think I'm really wrong about it.
"upgrading it to AGESA 1.2.0.Cc firmware would certainly open the way to compatibility with Ryzen 4xxxG and 5xxxG APUs but would reveal other bugs later"
Seeing as its the same board, this statement would be incorrect, and what I pointed out with my statement, so it would change what you said because its a literal overclocking yes/no flag prompted by that 1 extra component that has no actual logic

thanks for latest bios 1.82 !!

I no longer have Secure Boot enabled in Windows11 after applying this update (eventhough it is enabled in the UEFI); I tried clearing the keys and multiple reboots; but no luck so far.

Secure Boot ok with everyone else ?

ASRock has provided the latest 1.90 version of the BIOS. Has anyone tested whether it supports S3 sleep?

Thanks for the news, but I think that if it is not notified in the BIOS changelog "1.90" then no the S3 Sleep is not supported, moreover it is still indicated in the specifications of the DeskMini X300 on its official page so...😅, but maybe they can release a compatible variant, you should ask ASRock Support what is going on and if it is still feasible (I think so).

hello, am looking at the x300 or the x600.

from a bios perspective is the x600 more stable? or x300 totally fine?

x300 is EoL and ASRock plans to stop updating BIOS for it even with AMD continuing to support/update the AM4 family.

Stability is but a minor issue, but on my Deskmeet x300 its been rock solid and while its not like the A300/X300 Deskmini which are basically clones, it shares enough design schematic that its not given me a problem, but I would not want to invest into a platform thats EoL and soon to be abandoned.

thank you, have ordered the x600. your reasoning on bios updates etc make sense! another reason i realised, is I already have another am5 system, 7900 ryzen 12 core, plus some ram available, so sort of complimentary. some man maths there, but the good thing with such maths is that is always adds up and says it is a wise 'ínvestment'

I'm running 1.90 on my A300, no problems besides the BIOS settings issue (although I didn't even try with 1.90, but used UMAF, because I didn't want to have to pull the battery again).
thx for the feedback! Are there any important system settings that are not available via UMAF (ram clock, timings, voltages, etc, virtualization, TPM, secure boot...) ?

As far as I've seen all settings that are available in the BIOS are available in UMAF (and it seems even some hidden options, I don't recommend to change), but some are available twice in different menus, and although they change (e.g. framebuffer size) and show a certain value (e.g. 512 MB) in BIOS, they are not actually set, thus Windows will still use 2 GB for graphics, so it's a bit tricky here and there to find the right menu for each setting. And be sure to leave each menu with ESC so it asks you to save the changes. Some options don't work, and drop you right back to the boot menu, if that happens just boot UMAF again.

Hi, I installed 3.71A on my A300 with 3400G, but after confirmation of successful BIOS upgrade, it no longer boots (fan turns, but no blue LED and screen stays black). Is this because of the 3400G? What are the chances it still boots with a 5600G? And, if not, any way to unbrick it?

Coming from which BIOS version? 3.71A should support the 3400G, but does NOT support 4000G & 5000G APUs.

Coming from 3.60S which worked fine except for problematic hdmi/dp connectivity glitches to my Denon AVR (random scaling fault/no sound). So sounds like brick. Anywhere you can point me for how to try and unbrick? Thanks.

I'm not sure if it's possible to unbrick it without a CH341A flasher. Did you try to unplug the battery yet? I don't think it'll help, but who knows with the A300, it's a little bitchy at times.

Yup, i also ran it a few seconds without cpu. I could transplant a 5600G from another x300 but since it is not compatible i am not going to try. Sounds like the end of the road is near for this one. I was going to buy another x300 but i already fell for one of those mini-PC’s with embedded 5825U for just 50,- more.
