Stalled Hutzy XS — Ultra Compact Gaming Case (<4L)

You can mount an HDPLEX 250W/300W (or something with the same mounting points) in XS and use an external brick; no need to go for direct plug and worry about clearances.

No doubt about that, but the XS is meant to use standard components (even if the traditional use case is different) There's many layouts I would like to play with using custom solutions. At another time ;)

It's more than that. About 4-5mm. There's also the issue of the direct-plug being so thick width-wise, and depending on the location of the 24-pin connector on the mobo, there might not be room for it in that dimension. This layout came close, in the sense that AC-DC + DC-ATX just barely fit...

Most motherboards come out of the box running the PCIe socket on Auto mode in the BIOS, so it should in theory use the fastest protocol your addin card + riser can use. No, the 160W DC-ATX Direct-plug won't fit. It's too tall considering the spec height is counted above the motherboard...

If things fall into place, there will be a switch to a PCIE 3.0 cable between now and when I make this available.

Thanks! I haven't done extensive testing of it laying horizontal, but I have tried it with both the GPU and CPU side down with 10mm feet for a short period. Overall the temps are worse than standing up. But if you must lay it horizontally, then the CPU side on bottom is definitely the way to go.

Hey guys, I want to gauge interest between Black, Silver and White finishes on Hutzy XS. Black and Silver are all anodized, no powder coat. This gives it a less reflective, more grainy (but subtle) finish White is powdercoated on, so it is glossy like automotive paint. And reflects light like...

Congrats on shipping out your first units! Can't wait to see endusers' builds with them!

Stalled Iris 16 - RGB Vandal Button

Seems to me the solution is just to write in the manual "tighten while making sure the arrow is pointed directly up/down/left/right" It's only possible to fix so many potential human errors ;)

    Power Supply 500W FlexATX PSU

So they effectively gave buyers even less reason to get the TFX 350 they tried so hard to market :s

    Power Supply 500W FlexATX PSU

Is it actual modularity or is it like the SSP300 where theres just one big bundle of cables to plug in?

Mini-ITX and GTX 1080 case concept design

The actual airflow for all the components is reversed; they all suck air in to cool the components instead of blowing hot air out.

Yes. I will be making a production run when I sort out the manufacturing consistency problems. It will be on some kind of crowdfunding platform.

Yea that render's fresh out of the oven :) It's tougher to put it at the top than the back, because the button + wiring assembly is longer than its diameter (~19mm including the hex nut), and the space constraint is much more in height than length The button in that render is already 16mm...

Yup in my testing the power button being so far down wasn't very convenient. In the latest layout (see first post), the power button is at the top, above the GPU's 131mm keep-out zone. I'm trying to fit a 16mm anti-vandal there as opposed to a 12mm

The bracket comes optionally only on some FlexATX psus, so it is not critical. But the choice of making Hutzy XS compatible had no downside, it was an easy decision Note that the orientation in which the top cover comes off has no standard. For example, if you look at @iFreilicht's photoshoot...

Fully 3D printed custom case (update)

When I was prototyping the middle board of the build (the Hutzy XS and its big brother, the Hutzy HS) I used my own 3D printer and printed the boards in PLA. However, I noticed that after extended use (around a month or so?), the board had warped significantly when I detached the motherboard...

It's because there is, in fact, an unofficial standard orientation for FlexATX PSUs, based on the manufacturers' choice of which way the additional bracket is installed in the front (fan-side in the picture below) Note that in the above picture, at the end of the fan-side of the PSU there is...
