Log Minimum Distance from Fan to Vent Grill?

I could have sworn i read someone else test this, but i can't for the life of me remember what it is or be able to find it through searches. What's the optimum minimum distance a fan (like a gpu fan) should be from a vent hole to minimize excessive noise? I'm designing a case for myself and...

Sheet Metal Prototypes and Production [no longer available]

I know this is a thread about sheet metal, but i noticed you also have one about 3d printing. I'm curious if you also have the ability to cnc route a prototype from plywood. I have a concept for a SFF pc case made from plywood i'm trying to get made. I already have the 3d model created in...

    File Conversion?

There are, but they are for the installed software. I'm just using the web based version.

    Cleaning up 3d printed parts?

I have a small 3d printed itx case made out of PETG. Functionally its fine, exactly what i wanted, but cosmetically i wish it was better. Specifically there is this one layer that goes through the whole model where you can see the infill gaps. Its not huge, and like i said it doesn't effect...

    File Conversion?

This worked perfect, thank you. Now i can use STL to 3d print, and use this to create a dxf to do 2d laser or waterjet cut parts.

    File Conversion?

I appreciate the effort, but it doesn't appear they convert from the file types i can download as. Sketchup online only lets you download files as either a .skp or a .stl. The only other option it gives without buying the pro version of the software is a picture with .png format, but its...

    File Conversion?

I'm trying to get a prototype itx case built. I have the frame completed, but i need 2x panels laser cut. I found someone local that can do the work but they need a dxf file. I don't do this sort of thing regularly. I have it modeled in sketchup online. I just need the 1 file converted. I...

    SFF.Network CES 2020 – A SFF Roundup

I got another question for ya. Why does MSI only seem to sell their Aero ITX GPU's to Australian's now a days?

    SFF.Network CES 2020 – A SFF Roundup

Anyone ever ask AMD why they don't make ITX GPU's anymore? Nvidia always has at least 2-3 companies making ITX versions of every card up to around 180w of total board power, but AMD only has itx lengths for a single SKU from last gen, and a couple for their bottom of the barrel budget cards.

Concept 3D print materials and production questions

I figured out the price difference. The website defaults to mm for models, and i built mine using inches, so it was calculating the price for an item that was 1/25th the actual size.

Concept 3D print materials and production questions

I am not looking to make an entire case with 3d printing, but i was thinking about having the internal structure that components bolt to be 3d printed. I've seen a few people do SLS Nylon for cases and case components. Is this the best bang for your buck option? I went to...

Concept Project: The Smallest (gaming PC that theHACK can design and build)

SLS is that new fancy laser 3d printed tech right? At first i was thinking it would be like normal 3d printed stuff with a cheap plastic feel.

Concept Project: The Smallest (gaming PC that theHACK can design and build)

$260 for a 3d printed item with flat metal side panels? Does this include power button and pci-e riser cable? Honestly id rather see it CNC'd from a block of aluminum if we are talking prices over $200.

I assume we'll be able to put the meanwell 4x2 12v psu in this? Will it fit the meanwell 5x3 12v psu's? Like RPS-500-12-C?

Prototype J-Hack Pure Mk2 APU case

If the problem is just with the panels collapsing inward, couldn't you just have a tab poke through a small slit in the side panel. Not so much that its sticking out, but the tab sits flush with the exterior side panel. It would break up the aesthetics slightly, but perhaps less so than a...
