how small can a 600watts psu be? G-cake is fully custome made psu from its case/size ,input/output connectors/cables,internal/external usage,G-cake's body size is 8.5cm*5cm*4cm,and its power density is about 57watts per cubic inch.
and the weight of G-cake is only 242 g:
and G-cake is...
the only purpose to do this mod is to make a build with RTX3070 in 17cm deep case ,and use blower fan to exhaust hot air out. of the case
pick a RTX3070 FE make sure the length of pcb is actually the same with mITX MB pcb,and make a midframe to mount heatpipes and block to the GPU pcb:
design...
and after a light OC

updated case size is 21.8cm * 19cm * 6.5cm,2.69L
estimated Round 4 PPL...
custom aluminum case:
very simple 5 pieces of 1.5mm thick aluminum case
cool air intake from top cover, and hot air exhausted through side ventilation holes:
custom hybrid cooling system(watercool+heatpipe+vaporchamber):
1,Vapor chamber coldplate for SP3 EPYC cpu socket:
2,5*6mm heatpipes block and mounting mid-frame for RTX3070,all of the GPU's heat is thermal coupled to the CPU VC coldplate:
3,0.2mm pitch micro channel water block soldered...
it is a fully custom (cooling +case+psu +flex pcie cable parts )build log,
to get ppl score as high as possible in as small as possible case:
estimates size is 21.8cm L * 19cm W * 6.5cm H,about 2.7L
hardware :
Asrock rack ROMED4i-2L
AMD EPYC 7742QS 64C128T
16G*4 DDR4 3200 RECC

i have a project coming with EPYC 7742 and RTX3070 in 3L watercooled case with internal psu to break the PPL record
21.5cm * 19cm*7cm~2.86 L;with 7742and RTX3070:
estimated:
size is 18.5cm L 9cm W 4cm H,two temp controlled ultra silent pwm 4cm fan
Flex/1U mounted barcket.
XT90i modular connector(12Vmain GND 12Vsb PS-on)
fully customable modular cables
main-control type 24pin directplug(power by 12Vsb when idle ,and turn on 12Vmain by ps-on signal )
M3 mounting...
spend almost a complete april fools day to diy this 90-260Vac in AC-ATX directplug:
the main AC-12V GaN power module is UCC28780 ACF ,NV6117+NV6115,planar transformer,300Khz switching frequency,MP6908 SRic+FDMS86300DC,Kemet KO polymer tantanum capacitors.power density is about 96watts per cubic...
the upper case also touch the cpu heatsink's fins to help cooling,so when the CPU is in idle or low load condition, the blower fan can be pwm tuned to very low rpm, nearly passive cooling by the case.
the blower fan rotates too low RPM in like 80-100 RPM to be detected by bios of X300...
this project is to make a solution of smaller case and better cooling than Deskmini X300 's orignal case:
the new case's size is 15.1cm* 14.2cm*4.2cm,about 0.9L/900cc
first, diy a heatsink with vapor chamber cold plate and all copper fins to help improve cooling performance, and apply a blower...
surely i cant afford stuffs like 9900K,it is just a custom project with a friend.started like 1 year ago:
final looking compared to deskmini X300,size is 22.8cm x 15.4cm x 5.2cm,1.82L
simple custom MXM heatsink(for noctua 9015 and ref GTX1070 MXM,allign height to CPU cooler...
