Gemini Lake Keeps Flooding In With Gigabyte’s J4005N-D2P

The successor to Intel’s Apollo Lake, “Gemini Lake” is the latest generation of embedded processors from the company. Only two sub-brands populate this core’s lineup – Pentium Silver and Celeron. Designed for embedded systems, industrial systems and the like, the chips are 6-10 watt 2-4 core units with Intel UHD graphics 600/605. Gigabyte has launched the J4005N-D2P, a Celeron J4005 based board. The embedded processor is clocked at 2GHz, with turbo to 2.7. Gemini Lake NUCs Appear on Retailer Listings

Intel has renewed it’s support for the NUC platform, recently releasing Gemini Lake variants of the platform, namely the NUC7CJYH and NUC7PJYH NUCs. As you may have guessed, the “C” and “P” in the model numbers reference the inbuilt processor – either a Celeron (SR3S5) or Pentium Silver (SR3S3) Processor. The units have started to show at e-tailers for pre-order for example, ShopBLT.com lists it here and CompSource here. While there’s no details on availability as yet, at least the price is known.
