A Battle for the High End – Scythe Ninja 4
With the predominance of small CPU coolers we’ve looked at recently, I thought I’d break it up a bit and review something a bit… bigger. The Scythe Ninja 4 is definitely not a small cooler, but the benefit of its massive size comes in the form of cooling performance that can deal with higher wattages and overclocks – or, alternatively, the ability to run at ultra low fan speeds and provide excellent acoustics as a result. CRYORIG: “08.12.15 Taipei, Taiwan – We at CRYORIG have the following information and statement to make, regarding the recent news and discussion regarding damaged PCB’s on Skylake CPU’s, which many in the industry believe is caused by abnormal heatsink mounting pressure during transportation of the PC system. First of all we want to assure users of CRYORIG products that currently no CRYORIG heatsinks have displayed this problem, either through media reports, third party sales channels or internal testing. Corsair Releases the Hydro Series H5
Corsair has launched the Hydro Series H5 SFF cooler. This is a closed loop cooler directly aimed at the SFF market, and Corsair claims it can cool 150w of heat quietly and efficiently. As we know all too well, cooling in SFF builds can be somewhat of a challenge. Corsair hopes that the Hydro Series H5 will help with that, ensuring that even overclocked CPUs can be cooled effectively. Corsair’s says that their Hydro Series H5 SF is easy to install and measures just 84mm in height. The design allows the unit to be fitted directly atop of any Mini-ITX …

With the new chromax line, we’re taking another step by allowing users to colour-customise their fans with red, blue, green, yellow, black or white anti-vibration parts. When we introduced our industrialPPC series, we mainly had industrial clients in mind, but the fans have become surprisingly popular among overclockers and enthusiasts. The new NA-SAVP1 kits now give them the option of …
Reports That High Pressure Heatsinks Can Damage Skylake
Intel’s new Skylake processors are in the news again, and not for a good reason. According to PCGamesHardware.de, high pressure or mass coolers could damage the CPU package and/or socket. As you can see in the image above, the substrate of the processor package is significantly thinner, and being made of glass fibre (as are most PCBs), it can flex significantly more than the previous, thicker, packages. The pressure of a hefty cooler could push the CPU package into the socket and damage the pins! The fact that Intel’s Skylake processors do not ship with a stock cooler may exacerbate …

Because of this, we were quite excited to see a new contender arrive recently, in the SFF space: the CRYORIG C7, a 47mm tall, quad heatpipe, 92mm fan cooler with some unique design elements. [mks_separator style=”blank” height=”2″] About CRYORIG “After a few years of working with other brands, the CYRORIG team decided to strike out on their own in 2013.
