Jarrod from Jarrod’s Tech, seen above finding out how much you paid for “that” laptop, has done a comprehensive test of power scaling on the RTX 4000 series laptop GPUs. It’s not good news for manufactures who want you to pay extra money for extra wattage on 4050, 4060, and 4070 mobile GPUs.

Listed above is just one of the charts he goes through. Basically put, he discovered that there is a voltage limitation above 100 watts on the 4050 through 4070 mobile GPUs. The RTX 4080 and 4090 mobile continued to show performance scaling up to their power limits.

This is very eye opening as the 3000 series showed far better scaling. It’s as if there is some sort of artificial limit in place for the 4000 series.

This type of testing is incredibly intricate and time consuming. Plus, manufactures despise when you do it and you risk loosing their support. However, it’s absolutely necessary to protect consumers.  Please head over to the Jarrod’s Tech YouTube channel, watch the video, subscribe, and consider donating to him.
