Zero-Fan mod, controller, or adapter for PWM fans?

Does anyone have the aquacomputer quadro? I'm wondering bud you can use different RGB strips(I have Phanteks digital rgb strips)

Aquacomputer's site says this:

Alternatively to the LED strips offered by Aqua Computer, LED fans made by Corsair and NZXT can be connected using the optional accessory RGBpx Splitty4 (item code 53267, not included in delivery).

so I would think yes, but only strips using the same interface as Corsair and NZXT's fans - if such strips exist, of course.

When I asked aquacomputer if they plan to make one of their aquacomputer quadros with SATA instead of molex, they said:

Hallo,

no, and there is a good reason for that: SATA connectors can not provide the required maximum current.

Is that right? Does molex allow more power than sata?
