This is an old thread but full of relevant info for me. Really enjoyed the post as I'm also venturing into a custom diy flex atx build with my gtx 1080 ti mini. I just started a new job that requires a bit of travelling so I figure I'd make a ultra portable unit to take with me.

Thank you! Love what you’re doing with mounting CPU coolers on the GPU.

The PSU is an annoying problem, but flex is the most space efficient, so it has very good potential for custom fan solutions.
