I ripped mine apart and sleeved them with MDPCX sleeve. Most are manageable after that. The 16 pin GPU cable is still very rigid, but most became MUCH easier after sleeving.Just received this unit, omg the cables!!!!!

If you can run 2 on seperare cable runs back to the psu do as it will provide beter load balancing and thermals. Depends on loom wire gauage and connecfor pin spec, standard pin spec is 9A, so with the 3 x 12v circuits that run on a 6 or 6+2 pci-e connector thats max 324W load, 3080 can pull 350W. Some pins are 13A and if its on 16awg that would be fine for upto 468W. Depends what you can find out from the brand /OEM on pin specs as thd wire guage detail should be printed on the wire.

Have one of these in my Dan A4-SFX! My quick review and only point of criticism.
Lovely unit. Very efficient, meets all the modern standards, and is very quiet at any load I've thrown at it. So far that has been no more than half the rated output, but all reviews I've read say it is one of the quietest modern SFX units.
It's got a hybrid semi passive fan on/off with physical switch to set it to always on. This is especially great for SFF where always on can ensure less residual heat from the PSU builds up anywhere in the case.
At loads the fan would have otherwise been turned off the PSU is extremely quiet so in my mind leaving it on ensures the best temperatures for the whole system, whilst adding little to no perceived noise.
Additionally, I have noted the PSU fan stays on for some extra time after the PC is shut down but still plugged into the wall. Excellent work here from Silverstone, ensuring the PSU is adequately cooled off should the system be shut down (or crash!) immediately following a heavy load.
This combination of low fan noise, fully optional semi passive mode, and post shut off cooling time is exactly how every other "good" PSU on the market should strive to operate their fans.
People complain about the flat cables, but really? I never had an issue with them, going back to when Corsair started using them on some of their first modular PSU's. I actually prefer them! Take your time to plan cable runs, bend them around corners, and bundle them up when needed (they take up less space than rounded cables when bundled properly). My Dan A4 is extremely clean with no issues bending the flat cables to create neat runs, and no excess cable in the way of anything. They hold their shape once bent and I have used bugger all in the way of zip ties to secure them in positions.
So lots of positives from me there, but surely Silverstone are not perfect right? Yep, they made a really weird and silly blunder...lack of GPU cables!!
None of this applies if you are using the included 16 pin 12VHPWR cable. That I have read does 450W, which is fine for any GPU unless you are set on uncapping your RTX 4090 power limit on a 850W unit. It would have been nicer for this to be a 600W rated cable, but how many people are buying a 850W unit and need that.
What is far more likely is people who need more than two 6+2 pin PCIe connectors. It is probably the most unfortunate thing this unit only includes a single cable out of the PSU with two 6+2 pin connectors on the GPU end. I need to rant about this silly decision...
I recently read a Silverstone rep stating this was so as to include two EPS cables instead. Huh! Where is the logic in that?? What kind of SFF machine, or basically any regular desktop really, needs to use TWO EPS motherboard connectors rather than using more PCIe connectors. Absolute madness with no logic, rhyme or reason grounded in the real world. This cuts out support for any GPU that requires say three 8 pin connectors, which is plenty of cards these days. Or builds with multiple GPU's, or additional components that might require PCIe power like some sound cards.
Yet how many motherboards require two EPS connectors? None but maybe some server boards or ultra high end enthusiast overclocking users who almost certainly won't be running a 850W SFX unit anyway.
They really should have included two sets of cables each with two 6+2 pin connectors, as 850W is more than capable of such output. Then people can choose to run both sets of cables to a single GPU as needed. They could even include that extra cable alongside the extra EPS cable and god forbid allow people to choose which of the 4 cables to use with the 3 modular PSU connectors depending on their requirements. For the cost of the unit this is not unreasonable to expect.
Anyway, it was also confirmed that the single cable supports the full 150W+150W across the GPU connectors, for 300W total. +75W from the PCIe slot, this is fine for a 3080 (assuming it isn't an aftermarket card with three 8 pins), but I get the peace of mind of running this over two separate cables too.
I also generally prefer to run individual 8 pin cables wherever possible. Silverstone do make a cable kit that works with this PSU. It includes two individual 6+2 pin cables that run from the EPS socket on the PSU (the 850R shares EPS and PCIe on the PSU end). No problems at all, hopefully this can help any potential buyers. It is overall one of the best SFX units around, it just needs some extra cables to suit any user who requires more than two PCIe 6+2 connectors.
As an example of how ludicrous this is, I have in hand another model from Be Quiet!, a modular 500W SFX-L with a Gold efficiency rating. Probably only a mid-range model when it launched some 6-7 years ago at half the price of the Silverstone 850R.
Now what does it come with? Let's see...a single EPS cable - sensible, who needs more? And what's this? Not one, but two PCIe cables? And furthermore, both of these cables provide two 6+2 pin GPU connections for a total of four 6+2 connectors! On a 500W unit this seems almost overkill, and yet the option is there for the consumer to use them. Or just to use two separate cables and only put one 6+2 connector to use on each.
Don't get me wrong that PSU isn't perfect either. Despite the brand it isn't all that quiet under any loads above 300W or so, and it has no such semi passive fan functionality - especially odd considering it being a reasonably efficient gold rated and physically larger SFX-L unit. Unfortunately, Be Quiet decided to save a couple bucks in one area and for this unit it was in the internal heatsink size.
In an ideal world Be Quiet would have saved some money providing one less GPU cable for this 500W unit (which hardly needs to provide four 6+2 connectors), and instead increased heatsink size a smidge.
Then Silverstone could just swap the additional included EPS cable with even just one extra single PSU to single 6+2 connector...it would cost them literally nothing to have done this and to open up support for all of those factory OC GPU's with three 8 pin connectors.
Fairly sure even my Silverstone SX500L had two 2x6+2 cables.

I had one of these for a bit but got annoyed as the fan noise was very noticeable, which was disappointing as I've previously been really happy with Silverstone power supplies. I ended up going back to ye olde trusty SF750 then upgraded to the new SF850 when I got my 5080 and haven't looked back.
apparently, the 1000W version is best in class in terms of fan noises: below 700W, it sits underneath the 14db. But if you can hear that, you're either using the PSU as your sleeping pillow, or use an open frame build in a complete sound-isolated room.

I was also used to my SF750 with fan-stop so probably more sensitive.
Yeah, the SF750 OG is such a .. unit. You NEVER hear it. Other option might be the NZXT C850W SFX - stays below 6 db till approx 420 W, acc. to Cybenetics - or the (DeepCool) Gamerstorm SFX PSUs; not so impressive in mostly silent operation, but nevertheless, they offer a very solid, NON-fluctuating fan noise profile. AFAIR they normally sell the GamerStorm brand exclusively in the US; its the first time, at least for me, seeing it surface here in Europe.
