My current car is casting its last breath ("Renault, each day a new noise !"), so I bought a new car. Next week, I'll take delivery of a Peugeot 2008 SUV, Urban cross finition and 110HP engine...

I recommend not using the Orico. I owned one and the adapter would go to sleep after a period of inactivity. It would not wakeup when the systems that it was connected to tried to access it.
Ughh it took me like 4 hours to figure out that the adapter was bad, when I had the drive plugged in before booting it wouldn't recognize it, I would have to reconnect it but even then it would only work for a short while before going to sleep.. frustrations

Ended up busting out my old 3.5" adapter, talk about space inefficiency hahahaha

Does anyone know of any usb to sata adapter for 2.5" drives that doesn't go to sleep?

If it works, why not? XD I recommend the 2.5" variant of the 3.5" adapter that you currently using. I have a Vantec NexStar 6G 2.5" SATA III to USB 3.0 adapter (NST-266S3) and it works correctly. Excellent heat dissipation too.

Having built an SFF system only to use a 2.5" in a 3.5" enclosure that is a quarter of the size of my entire system XD
The main reason is I'll be going to SF for intern this summer, the more space I save the better, and also this 3.5" adapter needs an external power supply...

I'm looking at the 2.5" ver now, there's a USB 3.1 one with no external PSU

But the USB 3.0 one has external PSU? NVM it also has eSATA which I don't need.

But then this other USB 3.0 doesn't..? (and cheaper coz prime deal, probably just gonna get this one if it works)

Nice camera set up, those little Sony bodies are so compact and portable, but really capable and great specifications.

I'm pretty sure SFFN will stand out at Computex as the Mitutoyo fan club, with rulers and calipers in 70% of the photos.
Somebody should definitely wear a Mitutoyo T-shirt or a patch on their SFFN shirt with "Made possible by Mitutoyo".

I will be interning in San Francisco starting next week for 4 months, and then another half a year in Tokyo, had to pick up a good camera for this one of a life time trip :D

Where are you doing the internship? A6500 should be a great camera, especially with the 16-70mm lens

Maybe Minutiae could reach out to Mitutoyo and see if they want to run some adverts or some other form of sponsorship.
Custom branded instrument cases, maybe? I ned a new calliper case, and "THIS MACHINE KILLS ATX" has a nice ring to it.

Two are dual ball bearing and two are fluid dynamic bearing. Will be bringing them to Taipei to test. Want some feedback on noise from more than just me : )
