SFF.Network [SFF Network] Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Launched

The next generation of Raspberry Pi has just launched, featuring on element14's YouTube channel. The new version includes the Broadcom BCM2837RIF SoC, a 64-bit quad core ARM processor running at 1.2 GHz. This accounts for around 10 times the performance of the original Raspberry Pi. The board also includes built in WiFi 802.11N and Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy (BLE) for connectivity, as well as the usual RJ45 jack for wired networking.

That's really nice! The Pi was always held back by it's poor CPU (the original Pi's SoC was literally a chip designed as a GPU with just enough CPU glommed on to act as an interface)

Pi podcast just put up an interview w/ Eben. He said the reason there isnt more is partly because the chipset their using is pretty much maxed out at 1gb but also cost. its coming in at $35 USD still and RAM is a "significant fraction of that"

I skipped the RPi 2 but I might pick this one up, the built-in WiFi with integrated antenna is very welcome !
