Hey guys,

Just finished my S4M build.

I'm running a Ryzen 3600 with a Noctua NH L9a-AM4 cooler. My idle temps are about 46-50C deg, I used to have 30-35C in my old build but that was a 1700x on a 212 EVO cooler.
Anyone else tried the 3600 with the same cooler? Or have lower idle temperatures?

Thanks!

My build with Ryzen 3700x same cooler idle temps is 50-55c and for normal operate upto 60-70c (Room temps is 30c)

Its seem new Ryzen is very hot event open case or stock cooler, not much difference temps.

I have a 2700 with the same cooler, and undervolted with an offset of -80mV. I get similar idle temps, while during stress test it tops out at 71c. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

If you leave the fan curve at its default settings I "think" its range is like 800-1800 rpm, maybe the idle speed is a little low given the small mass of the cooler block, so it's basically heat saturated constantly. It's just the nature of running such a tiny cooler.

Are you running the fan with the low noise adapter? Try not using that. 50-55° doesn't sound too bad though.

Hey, @memorylane! Do you consider such temperatures a problem? Has your system been running stable since your post or have you had any issues?

Ryzen is hotter compare to intel i7-6700 (normal operate 50-55c), but still safe such that temp. System still running stable.

Currently oc cpu to 3.9 MHz and voltage 1.1375. idle and normal operate 55-60c and full load up to 70c (asrock b450 itx). Just running for 2 weeks still stable.
Cinebench scores between stock cpu vs oc 3.9MHz are not difference.

Good to know. I’m planning to upgrade from a Ryzen 5 3400G to a Ryzen 7 3700X and wanted to make sure that the Noctua NH-L9a will suffice when running the 3700X at stock clocks in an S4 Mini.
Many thanks!
