S4M-C + MSI 1070 Aero ITX + HDPlex 400W + internal HDPlex 300W AC-DC plausible?

I currently have just finished building my rig with an i5-8400 and an MSI 1070 Aero ITX. I used an HDPlex 400W and a Dell 330W adapter.

I was thinking maybe I can cram an HDPlex 300W AC-DC inside to make it brickless.

I saw someone cram the internal brick with a Gigabyte 1080 mini here:
https://smallformfactor.net/forum/t...80-and-i8700k-dual-psu.7519/page-2#post-99779

But that card is a little shorter than the MSI 1070.

Anyone here ever tried? Any thoughts?

Thanks :)

If you are planning with the S4 Mini classic, sorry to burst your bubble it might be very difficult..
So far success have been seen on S4M (with more internal dimension) , that too after sanding the end faces..
If you are able to get is done, please share your experiences..

I was just talking to Josh from NFC about making a 1070 Brickless Mini, with the new HDPlex 400 ac-dc and 400 dc-dc, he told me it might be possible with some modding and creative cable design, and that the only 1070 that would fit would be the Galax 1070 OC Mini due to the 400w ac- dc combo, I'm not an excellent modder so Im gonna bite the bullet and let Josh build the system for me.

Hey, been trying to find the answer myself but wanting to do it with the zotac 1070 or 1070ti. I dont have the link but did find one system with a zotac 1080 and the internal brick in the newer S4M. I think thats the only version of the mini that is possible at this time as long as the 300w internal with power it. I hope so since the 330w brick works.

Best of luck cant wait till build mine soon.

Thanks for the info. I hope he does it on camera cuz really want to do a 1070 brickless. Ill have to look up that card. I already bought the zotac 1070 tho, got it for 250 so not bad only yr old. I hope your only talking about the S4mC cuz I've seen the gigabyte with it above it aswell as the zotac to the side. (Was the newer 1080, hopefully the 1070 will fit aswell.)

Found this build but it uses the newer S4M:
SKYREACH 4 MINI (S4M)

From what I've read so far, the HDPlex 400 AC-DC will fit beside the GPU as long as its not an overheight card and only with a custom PCIE power connector.

Kmpkt mentioned it might still also fit on the front of the case if HDPlex trims it down by 1mm before release. If so, the AERO ITX 1070 and Gigabyte 1070 and 1080 minis would fit but the cards will be dumping heat on the brick.

I just got this used S4M-C last month. Might have to sell it or trade it for the new S4M and get that HDPLEX 400W AC-DC. Although that will be hard to accomplish here in the Philippines.

Yes that was it and yes you basically have to take the plastic connecter of GPU cable to fit. Josh has a cool video on how to do it.

Best of luck. Yea the classic is dope but def more flexibility in the S4M.

Can the S4M-C contain any GPU's more powerful than the Zotac 1050ti without modification or alternate front panel?
