Ryzen 9 3900X in the Dan

Will the Alpenfohn Black Ridge cooler be enough for the 3900X (stock, no OC) in the Dan case?

The new " Dreamcou" for the system should be a 3700X.

Under full load with AVX 90 Watt. That will be certainly coolable... only how it looks with the

3900X with 131 Watt with AVX ?

Will it be coolable without AIO water cooling ? The multicore performance simply impresses me too much.

well, I went ahead and ordered the 3900X... Wish me luck! ? I hope the Black Ridge can handle it... if need be, surely i can cap the cTDP in bios?

Hi @Dazr87 ! I'm building a DAN A4-SFX v4 with the 3900X too, but I've gone with the Asetek 645LT, this build will probably take around 2 weeks, I will create another thread to keep my updates there.

Have you watched this video from Optimum Tech, he has the 3900x cooled with the Asetek 645LT. Admittedly it is on a test bench but I think with some minor tweeking it should be able to cool the CPU.

Depends on the workload but I don't think it'll work with the stock 92mm configuration for productivity.

9900K hits 94'C with the Black Ridge on Blender at 125W CPU Package Power* using the 2.5W/2500rpm NF-A9x14 fan.

*measured in HWInfo64, 4.5GHz effective speed @ 1.10v (-2 AVX offset and -30mV undervolt)

My understanding is that the 3900X pulls around 135W at full load, and the 7nm chiplet arrangement means it's harder to pull heat away from the actual CPU dies.

but i9 9900K must be limited by 95W.
