Your right, I usually game at 4k or 1440. I do have a 1080p 120 hz portable montior i bring but at 1080p I'm sure the ryzen will more than suffice. I was hoping the 9600k will run cooler and allow me to overclock to 5.2 on air.

Hi, I am actually planning an exact build like yours with ryzen 2700x and gtx 2080ti, my question, it seems like you run them with air cooling not water cooled and still be able to overclock both the cpu and gpu. so whats your temp on full load and what fan do you use to cool the cpu?

I do have the water cooler just switched to the air cooler cause I couldn't squeeze everything in. I need to get some custom cables, then I'll probably try again. I'm still tweaking my setup, but I am current hitting 62 degrees celcius on average the Cryorig C7 CU while gaming overclocked to 4.0 ghz all core overclock with the voltage set to 1.24. I see temperatures peaked up to 90 when trying PBO and the auto overclocking. With this overclock and voltage I'm seeing temperatures peak around low to mid 80s under full load. But be warned the cryorig C7 fan is unbearable at 100% with the side panel closed. I'm working on the adapter so I can put on a noctua fan. Also playing around with a case fan in the area below the power supply at the moment.

I have a gigabyte 2080ti which runs around 82 max, with a 190 core overclock.

I'm also testing a 2080 ti Asus turbo card. This thing is frigging loud even at 50% fan speed. At stock fan curves its constantly hitting 85 degrees celcius before throttling down with the clocks running around 1500-1600. If force the fans at 50+ it runs pretty cool but fan noise is barely bearable. The gigabyte even at 100% fan speeds it sounds bearable.

I'm thinking about switching to a delid 8700k or getting the new 9700k at this point. For my purposes of gaming I think I would really benefit from the higher clock speeds.
