NVIDIA has announced the RTX A2000; a low-profile professional workstation GPU measuring in at only 2.7" in height and 6.6" in length. That would be 68.58mm height and 167.64mm for those on the Metric system.

The RTX A2000 comes with 3,328 CUDA cores and 6GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit bus. Single-precision TFLOPS are listed as 8.0, RT performance at 15.6 TFLOPS, and Tensor performance at 63.9 TFLOPS. Power consumption is 70 watts, and it's cooled with a 2-slot blower style fan.

Additional features include four Mini DisplayPort 1.4A connections, AV1 decode support, and acceleration of AI based tools in programs such as Adobe Photoshop. As this is a professional workstation based GPU, no gaming performance was provided.

Here is a link to the RTX A2000 main page, and here is a link to the product information datasheet.

This is a great little card on paper. 92% of the cores that the 3060 has. Only 80% of the memory bandwidth though. This would be a good card for a Lone L5 or similar style case. I would be interested to see if there is some UV/OC in the tank @ 70w.

There's no mention of the base clock / boost, but the RTX 3060 (GA-106) mobile TDP ranges from 60W to 115W. Mobile 3060@70W has 8.1 TFLOPS while this A2000 has 8 TFLOPS (FP32 performance).

There's a chart listing all RTX 30 Laptop variant specs (TGP, base clock, boost clock, FP32/single precision perf) : https://videocardz.com/newz/there-a...f5a02b25737-1628777570-0-gqNtZGzNAk2jcnBszQ2O

At the end of the day, this will be a good upgrade for the 'LP' guys. I didn't realize mobile/desktop 3060 had different counts.

3060 Laptop: 3840 Cuda
3060 Desktop: 3584 Cuda
A2000 SFF/LP: 3328 Cuda
*GTX 1650 LP: 896 Cuda

Sadly, this will not be even close to a desktop 3060 equivalent.
It will be a 1660-1660S range card, for a fortune.

I would still love to see it in the wild, but at this point, buying any new graphics card, especially an overpriced, underspecced workstation card is just a terrible investment.
My $365 RTX 2070 will have to hold out another year or so...

This supply chain shortage is really screwing up my plans of building a 3-4L travel PC!

That's valid from a gamer POV, but some of us :
  • Can only use low profile cards
  • Want a <75W GPU
  • Need ECC
  • Need the PRO drivers
Also don't forget that it's the only low profile GPU offering RT and Tensor cores, which aren't only used for games.

Brute force is not everything ;-) ...

I’m interested in gaming performance.

Just pre-ordered for end of month delivery of the OEM version for £455. Pricey compared to a lp 1650.

Will see if I can squeeze it into a ~2L case and my travel rig is complete!

Anyone found any benchmarks in the wild yet?

There was a reddit post of someone who got one but no real benchmarks.

Better not wait for too long if you want one, apparently this card is the most efficient mining card so far so prices and availability may become bad fast.
