Looking at purchasing two (2) 80 x 80 x 25 mm fans for my case... always been a loyal Noctua buyer but have recently been hearing good things about the little known German company Noiseblocker. Does anyone have any experience with Noiseblocker?

They have pretty similar specs:

Noctua NF-A8 PWM = 450-2200 RPM; 55.5 m3/h; 17.7 dB(A); 0.96 W

Noiseblocker NB-Multiframe M8-P PWM = 500-2000 RPM; 54.0 m3/h; 17.0 dB(A); 0.96 W

I used their 80 x 80 x 15 fans in my old L1 build and they were great. Quiet, seemed to cool adequately and most importantly they didn't look like shit.

I replace the shitty 40mm fan in my EVGA 1U PSU with a Noiseblocker 40mm and it is pretty quiet. Little bit louder than my Noctua 92mm and 120mm, but that is expected.

Thanks for the replies gents. Yeah, the better color scheme of the Noiseblocker has definitely peeked my interest over the sometimes ugly Noctuas (sorry Noctua but damn that brown is hideous!). Of course, I am not expecting any 80 mm fan to have the same 120 or 140 mm type quiet sound signature though that would be grand if they did :-) !

If you're looking for a good 80 x 80 x 25 fan, the Noctua Redux line is really nice and typically my go to. The black/grey color scheme is significantly less offensive than the Noctua standard.

The redux lines look fantastic. Unfortunately there are fewer choices so they may not be for the application you need.

The Arctic also makes decent 80mm fan. Not as nice as the noctua but if you only need to move a little air they are a bargain.

Yep, I have the ole gray 120 mm redux in my case now (NF-S12B redux-1200 PWM)... I was considering the 80 mm NF-R8 redux-1800 PWM as well just the pressure is a little lower on the redux line compared to the standard Noctua line.

I use two NF-R8's (redux) in my build and they are very quiet - you hear the air flow and not much else. However, my idea of quiet and your idea of quiet may not be the same.

Well I ordered, received, and installed two (2) Noiseblockers and damn are they stealthy! Very quiet and very well made.

Noiseblocker NB-Multiframe M8-P PWM = 500-2000 RPM; 54.0 m3/h; 17.0 dB(A); 0.96 W

What do you think of the noise and quality?

They are whisper quiet. Extremely well made... German of course! I think they actually put my Noctua to shame ;-)

I too bought NB fans this time around.
I blame ricochet. His photos lured me in :D

In all seriousness, I don't think there is much difference in performance metrics. I needed to install both 15mm and 25mm thickness of 80mm fans and I went with all NB fans.

It's a shame that Noiseblocker availability isn't as good as Noctua's. The range in NZ for NB is appallingly small :(
