The C7 has a bigger and better heatsink, L9 has a better fan. Solution: Do what I did. Buy a C7 and a noctua a9x14 fan. Put the fan on the c7's heatsink with small black cable ties.

I tested both and I believe that the LP53 will cool better because the L9i is pretty weak and is for like non-k varients eg the i5-8400.

The (copper) LP53 can cool my delidded 8700K no OC - with the L9i fan (3mm to spare) - idling 39c and I maxing at 62c with CSGO via iGPU.

While the Cryorig C7 (fan right on the case side panel) struggled to cool until I delidded it - within mid 80c both in a Skyreach 4 Mini.

It really depends on what CPU you were going to use it with.
What did you end up going with?

So a LP53 w/ a Noctua fan then, in a S4M?
Trying to decide on cooling as well for my Mini.
P.s. I have a 6700k.

Yeah. Definitely delild any pre-9th gen intel.

Josh from NFC did a slew of video on it. The LP53 is the best cooler but availability and higher prices hurt it.

So I've found out. I was able to grab one off of Amazon. I wasn't thrilled about the cost but I figured it was coming from overseas anyways and wrote it off as an import "tax". Here's hoping it's as good as everyone says.

I wasn't really considering deliding. I figured I could just undervolt or turn off HT if need be.
