Has anyone ever noticed that noctua's nf-a9x14 has two variances? The 92mm fan that is included in the NH-L9i/l9a spin up to 2500RPM vs. 2200RPM the one you buy separately. I also noticed that the 2500RPM one is alot quieter and has a lower whine noise..

Might need to find some used coolers to steal the fan

@IntoxicatedPuma and I have been discussing this with Noctua recently.

Generally, Noctua optimises the cooler specific fans for the heatsink, rather than an all round performance profile of the separately purchasable fan. The heatsink-specific fan is more designed for static pressure, hence the higher fan speed. The whine/noise could be because of individual unit variances, however, the static pressure modifications could lend itself towards a different aural profile.

I just finished writing this in my Cryorig C7 CU review, explaining that buying an NF-A9x14 isn't really feasible unless you are going to buy a Noctua cooler as well. But yeah, what Confusis said. I will listen more closely to both of my fans.
