Hi!

I'm preparing to build my first "real" SFFPC (as I doubt my Evolv Shift 2 Air really counts, although it has a nice small footprint). I'm absolutely in love with COOJ MQ6 case! I'm going to use Intel 12400 and Meg Z690i Unify (as I need DP alt mode for GPU passthrough via Thunderbolt).

Wanted to use Noctua NH-L12S for cooling the CPU, but with Z690i Unify it can only be installed with the fan on top, making it higher than the MQ6 clearance (72mm).

Soo... I wonder what cooler should I use for 12400 in MQ6 on Z690i Unify? Would AXP120-X67 be OK for this motherboard? Or maybe I should use NH-L9i-17xx? I guess AXP120-X67 should be better though? And there's also Big Shuriken 3...

I'm using a Big Shuriken 3 on a Gigabyte z690i which also has massive heatsinks and should fit on the MSI. Thermalright is a good choice also the new Deepcool AN600. Those 2 both have 6 heatpipes vs the 5 on the BS3. I am cooling a 12600k so any of those 3 would cool a 12400 without problem.

If it can stay at 65 watt + you don't live in a hot region, I am OK to suggest NH-L9i.

If not, then I suggest you to go with the AXP 120-X67. Basically any bigger cooler your case & motherboard can support.

Other possible alternatives:
- NH-L9x65.
- Thermalright AXP90-X47 or better X53 (little brothers of the AXP120).

The options I mentioned above should fit within the CPU cooler clearance area & no RAM compatibility issue. That said the AXP120 should performs better.

The Deepcool @rfarmer mentioned above seems capable as well (tho I personally never tried it).

Thanx for the answers!
Seems now instead of 3 options I have 5 :)
I'm tempted to try that Deepcool, but z690i unify has some massive heatsinks, wonder if it fits…
