Another GPU launch. And instantly sold out and the MSRP turned out to be as much of a joke as the claimed availability. Anyone else feeling done with PC gaming?

Sure Apple rips you off on storage and ram. But at least the prices and availability are real.

ugh. Sorry for the vent.

You're not alone, don't worry ... just had a good laugh on Discord about those laughable fake MSRP. PC gaming needs a serious REBOOT / wakeup 🤷‍♂️
Ironically I got a 240hz oled late last year. Now I just want to play timberborners and balatro on my Mac mini in response to this 😂

Some of those 9070 XT non-MSRP models are wildly priced, $150+ over MSRP with minimal to no performance increase over the base MSRP models. I hear many of the Micro Center locations have good stock of MSRP cards, but most of us aren't anywhere near one, closest location to me is a 6 hour drive. I think the best bang for the buck these days is just buying a 1 generation old GPU on the used market.

Definitely frustrating as hell, but nowhere close to making me want to deal with Apple.

A lot of the non-MSRP cards have better power/cooling even if the headline figures aren't much higher. It's not all about 50mhz higher boost clocks

Plenty of 9070 cards about yesterday - OCUK had 500+ - but realistically, there were never going to be enough at launch due to the NVidia situation. The good news is that AMD have said supply should be ongoing so all stores should get restocks over the next few weeks.

There might be more stock....but expect to pay more for it--the MSRP was for release day only

Retailers now canceling cheaper Radeon RX 9070 preorders, “MSRP” stock depleted but AMD wants to fix it

The only MSRP 9070XT at BestBuy, was listed as a Day 1 "deal", after which the price was to move up 20%.

Microcenter is apparently the only seller in the USA that had stock--that even tried to care about bots and scalpers...unfortunately for the majority of the country that doesn't live near a MicroCenter--that means no cards for you. It also meant the scalpers had to wait in line, before posting cards on eBay for 2x retail. Welcome back to the 2020 GPU market

MSRP. As long as you're lucky enough to buy in the first 24 hours. After that the retailers and AIB are gonna scalp you. Not sure that AMD can do much about that.

The size and power draw on top of availability and lies turn me off of upgrading. Thankfully I nabbed a 4070s about a year ago for MSRP so I should be set for a while, but there's no ay Im getting back into my every other year upgrade cadence that I used to have.

Not sure there's any reason to buy a 50 series card. Missing VROPS, same performance per watt. Melting cables. If I was in the market I'd be going 40 series or AMD depending on what games I played.

It not just the crap pricing that's pushing me away. Where's the proper small form factor cards? Why are the vast majority of manufacturers slapping 300mm+ coolers on a 220W card?

If it was possible to cool a Vega 56 in 175mm then it's possible to do for the 9070 non-XT as well.
