Accessory Mechanical keyboard as a gift

Hey guys, I am thinking about getting my son a gift card to kbdfans so he can build a keyboard, this is something he's been taking about a lot lately. Can anyone give me an idea of what it may cost, I am sure it can get super expensive like anything but it would be nice if he could have enough to cover his first build. Any help is appreciated.

This depends on a lot of factors. What size keyboard does he want? What kind of switches? RGB or no? Wired or wireless? What kind of case?

The cost will vary wildly depending on all those factors I mentioned and more. Keycaps themselves is a whole other beast to deal with and can cost as little as $20 for some really cheapy ones to upwards of over $200 or more. Just for the keys. If you provide more specifics, then we can help more. I myself am only a beginner in this realm, and it can be overwhelming to get into, but I will try.
