With the current world leaders I don't plan more than a month ahead, except for my nuclear bomb shelter and massive power generator fuel tank. Gonna die playing Factorio in a bomb shelter, no doubt !

whispers on the ether says they're going straight to PCIe 5.0 for mainstream since it's a few months difference ._. but no indicator of when boards/systems will actually implement this after paper release
still on the X399 thing though ,_, rumors say TR gen 2 will only get X399 board refreshes, but I'm still eyeing on the next (albeit) normal-sized leap (/hop) with Zen 2 / Gen 3. I'll probably be around long enough to be able to get(item); for Gen 3, but motherboard support is such an unknown ,_,
Ideally if DDR4 sticks around for Gen 3 I'd be getting the lastest one of that stack, but if it goes DDR5 or the next PCIe generation then waiting an extra year for that news only to buy Gen 2 instead would be a slight bummer ._.
