Maybe it's just me, and I almost certainly need to clear my cache again so that I get all my notifications, but it seems things have slowed down here. At least in the topics I'm following, as I used to get 10-15 notifications a day and I'm down to 2-4 :p

I'm not sold on multiparty politics as a silver bullet.
I don't think there IS a silver bullet, but I think some changes can help.

It may have slowed down a bit. My notifications have actually increased a bit since I've crawled out of my hole.

It hasn't slowed down at all, trust me (I have access to the analytics.. we're up >20% since this time in December!) :p A lot of the more frequented threads are getting quieter, though, replaced by activity in smaller threads focused on particular questions that you may not have replied to and thus no notifications :)

That makes sense :)

So, as a person who likes models and miniatures, I stumbled across something that I find very very interesting and intriguing: There's a German company that makes White toner, and they sell all kinds of stuff to print on including decal transfer sheets.

Considering you usually have to hunt super hard for one of the dozen people who dropped a few thousand on an ALPS printer, and actually use them to make decal sheets for sale, I am super intrigued. The white toner is a bit more pricey than the regular CMYK cartridges, but they make them for otherwise ordinary laser printers.

That's interesting. What more considerations do need to be made to be able to use it ? Thinking about software here. Or does it only work in Black & White mode ?

As I said, they are regular toner cartridges for regular laser printers.

They sell some bundles, but they have cartridges available for a bunch of other Cannon and HP Models (no Brother Printers, though :( ) As far as I can tell, all of the models they produce cartridges for are color laser printers, and it seems you just replace the black cartridges with the withe ones. It didn't seem like there was any special software required, though I didn't dig THAT deep into it so far, but, since you're altering the functionality of otherwise normal printers, that would be something you'd have to account for *ie. you'd have to color any white portions of a vector drawing black in inkscape, and if you want black too, you have to do two passes)

Anyway, this is what I found https://www.ghost-white-toner.com/?lang=en
Everything I've seen previously is professional printers for stuff like posters which cost several thousand dollars, as much, if not more than an ALPS printer (that said, if I WERE starting a full on business, I could justify the printers for their ability to print directly on non-flat surfaces. The laser printer toner I found requires you to print on a transfer sheet rather than directly on the object)
