What grade titanium? Grades 1 and 2 are mostly pure titanium, but fairly soft and very prone to scratching. Grade 9 (3Al-2.5V) is decently better and Grade 5 (6Al-4V) is the typical high performance alloy used in industry.

We are planing to make our first case from Titanium (instead of Aluminum) in April. It will be polished titanium version of our CustomMOD Mini. Estimated price - $250-300.

What do you think?
I'd be very interested in this. Aluminium and Steel SSF cases I have or have lined up, so with a Titanium case the only boxes I'd have left to tick for desired exotic materials are Tungsten (can't really see that happening due to manufacturing difficulty) and ceramic (dimensionality issues with any reasonable cost manufacturing process).
What sort of finish would the case have? A Nitride hard coating (straight, or doped with Carbon or Aluminium) would be something really special, but it might be tricky finding someone to coat an object that large.

Can/is aerospace/marine/medical grade 9 titanium finished with a coating? Polished maybe...

I thought due to the high corrosion resistance and low oxidization of grade 9 (more than 5% aluminum and vanadium content) that it is usually only smooth/course/glossy finished after a specific combination of cold/hot roll smoothing; annealing; and descaling?

You can coat it with just about whatever. TiN is an easy coating, as there is no interstitial layer between the coating and base material. TiN will result in a gold coloring. A nitride coating will have a TiN interstitial layer between them and the base titanium, but that is just fine. It's really about getting the chemistry right to let layers adhere/bond to other layers.

Sounds nice but considering the issues with the 3.24L and GPU compatibility, I would strongly suggest you do the case as the 3.5L

same with above, I will buy it if you still on the go! I have one of your 3.24L (2nd batch), if this titanium version is the perfection of 3.24L case, then ill buy it.

We found a new team of specialists in cutting, bending and painting metal. Now everything is possible! I will continue to work on such "crazy" projects.
