Just discovered this, but i was wondering how it fairs against regular copper or aluminum heatsinks of the same size. Is this the future of heatsinks?

Looks like the highest conductance ceramic is Aluminum Nitride and has a conductivity of 150 W/(m.K) which is about 75% of that of pure aluminum. I believe the intended purpose of this material is to increase surface area in passive cooling solutions due to the increased surface area given by the ceramic's structure. I would worry that air may not move terribly well over the rougher surface reducing effective heat dissipation.
