SFF.Network ACEMAGIC Launches the G3A Mini PC ‘AI Workstation’

Coming in at 212 x 190 x 86 millimetres (3.46 Litres), ACEMAGIC’s G3A is a tiny ‘AI’ workstation PC. The unit features Intel LGA1700 for Intel 13th and 14th generation processors. Half height, dual-slot expansion cards are supported, with NVIDIA’s RTX PRO 4000 and RTX 2000 options noted in the source. The system is purported to be able to cope with a total 135 W of heat output.
A pair of DDR5 SO-DIMM slots are present for memory, but no word on maximum speed or capacity. Storage expansion is in the form of a pair of PCIe Gen4 x4 NVME slots and a spot for a 2.5″ SATA 3 drive.
The WiFi is in the 6E flavour. The front panel connections include a single 3.5mm audio jack, two USB-A ports rated at 10Gbps, and one USB-C port of the same flavour. To the rear, an HDMI output, a DisplayPort, two COM ports, two USB-A ports at 5Gbps, two legacy USB-A 2.0 ports, a 1GbE RJ45 jack, and a 2.5GbE RJ45 jack are included.
No pricing was announced at launch, and we can’t find the product page as yet...

My wife says it looks a bit like portal turret, and I think the front looks like an old laundry basket. Guess it's not quite our design style.

Acemagic does some interesting designs, but this isn't one that resonates with me. I don't like half-height GPUs for SFF. It's too limiting, and the 135 watt limit is brutal.

Right now you can buy a Densium 4, flex-atx PSU, 9600X, and ITX style standard height GPU for probably less than this will cost.

LGA1700?? Are we back in COVID?I like a sub-4L chassis, but this system is obsolete before it is even listed...funny part is labeling it "AI" anything--because of course they do.

Must be because of DDR4 instead of the crazy price of DDR5. Retailers are restocking AM4 CPU and board too

Intel recently released some LGA1700s with all P-Cores. Performance was meh.

I was almost wondering if this was NOS parts acquired at bargain-bin wholesale. I did a shop for a family member for a gaming rig, last year, and all they really wanted to spend was $600 on a prebuilt... Now they are exactly the sort of person who needs a prebuilt, and a service contract from local B&M....which BestBuy does have $600 gaming PCs. With the very latest in i5-9400 parts and RX580 GPUs.
