What exactly was the cause of the problem?
What does the fan orientation (its cable pointing back vs pointing to the front) have to do with the thermal problem?
So, you simply rotate the L9i 180 degrees and it is OK now?
I do not get it.

The l9i is a non symmetrical heatsink. It has a relief at the bottom for vrm and components but only on one side the other side doesn't have it.
He had installed the non relief side facing the M2 heat sink so the interference...
Rotating it 180 deg solved it...

Thanks. I am getting it now. So, if installed in an improper orientation, the mobo heatsink gets in the way of the cooler, physically preventing the cooler to go all the way down.

BTW, are you the guy in that video?
