I was wondering because supposedly one header can be split into 2 ports, and you can find all sorts of differrent Y splitter cable providing 2 usb port OTHER than type-c, while it's always 1to1 header to type-c than exists. Is this by design? Any reading material anywhere? Looking at the pinout...

I love the XPC cube shuttle pcs but I don't see any with USB type-c built in. How important is it to have usb type-c on a new system? BTW, I usually keep my PCs for 4 years.
