Sapphire Releases a RX 550 with Extra Horsepower

Hot on the heels of the RX560 LITE launch, Sapphire also snuck a slightly upgraded RX550 on to their product stack, based on “Polaris 21” silicon, rather than the Polaris 20 silicon, that the RX 550 is normally built on.  The Pulse Radeon RX 550 2GD5/4GD5 (model: 11268-16 for 2 GB and 11268-15 for 4 GB) has 10 out of 16 compute units physically present on the chip, which translates to 640 stream processors, higher than the 512 stream processors the RX 550 is originally designed to have. The card is running the core at a 1071 MHz core clock …

Sapphire to launch Pulse RX 560 LITE GPU

Recently, there was some kerfuffle in the tech news regarding a “weaksauce” variant of the RX 560 – with the typical 1024 SP model pared down to a mere 896. Whilst this was originally for the Chinese Gaming Cafe market, it seems that this “lite” chip will indeed make it to the western market. Sapphire is launching the “Pulse Radeon RX 560 LITE”, a 1300mhz factory overclocked card with 2 and 4GB VRAM variants. The cooler on these cards is a little beefed up versus the current “Pulse” cooler – with twin fans instead of a single unit. The card …

SAPPHIRE Pulse Radeon RX 570 ITX launched

AMD has refreshed their GPU lineup with the Radeon RX 500-series, consisting mainly of clockspeed bumps (and attendant power consumption increases unfortunately) but one nice surprise is the appearance of a short RX 570 card in the form of the SAPPHIRE Pulse Radeon RX 570 ITX. This is a welcome development for Polaris for SFF builds, since neither the RX 470 or RX 480s were available in a SFF-friendly form factor from any of the AIBs despite the small size of the reference RX 470 PCB. Specs are standard for a RX 570: 4GB of 7Gb/s GDDR5, boost clock of 1244MHz, …

Sapphire Sneaks in a Polaris Based Radeon Pro

With the launch a short time ago of the Radeon Pro line of GPUs, we’ve been patiently waiting for the launch of actual, physical products based on the line. Today we noticed that Sapphire had an interesting product sneakily added to their website, the Sapphire GPRO 8200. With specs somewhere in between the Radeon Pro WX7100 and WX5100, I believe this card is closer to the WX7100 GPU, a Polaris 10 product line, marking the first time we’ve seen a Radeon Pro card since the paper launch. Alas, AMD’s (amazing) YInMn blue does not make an appearance here, which is a …
