Welcome to SFF Network

Hello, and welcome to smallformfactor.net: a collaboration that encompasses a network of community-driven news content, and forum-based discussion, surrounding all things SFF.

[mks_pullquote align=”right” width=”400″ size=”24″ bg_color=”#171717″ txt_color=”#ffffff”]Small form factor systems are swiftly growing in popularity among some of the most influential groups of system builders: professionals, modders, overclockers, and gamers.[/mks_pullquote]

Until today, small form factor computing has usually found itself marginalized in subsections of forums, or relegated to mere tags on technology review sites. Yet, with the ascendancy and desirability of ever-smaller devices and enclosures in computing, the SFF community has clearly earned itself a home on the internet, designated wholly to it. And that’s where we come in: as a resource dedicated to informing and supporting the system builders who prize space efficiency and thoughtful design in what they create and enjoy, our aim (and our hope) is to be the place to share builds, experiences, and knowledge – and to provide a platform for all SFF community discussions and projects to flourish.

A big part of this mission is our forum, which has been live for some time now, and continues to support system builders (both new and veteran), product designers, and otherwise. To that end, we’ve actually introduced a ton of new features and functionality to our existing community – which you can read about here – and we can’t wait to see what everyone does with the new platform. But the other, newer half of the equation is SFF Network, which will act as a centralized news resource, voice, and advocate for small form factor systems and enthusiasts, by discovering and reporting on the developments that matter to us most.

[mks_pullquote align=”left” width=”400″ size=”24″ bg_color=”#171717″ txt_color=”#ffffff”]The integration of SFF Network and SFF Forum create a powerful link between the two platforms, and ensure that our reporting is by, for, and of the very community that makes SFF so great.[/mks_pullquote]

To support SFF Network’s stream of content, we’ve enlisted a two-pronged approach to generating and disseminating articles: on the one hand, you’ll read content by in-house editors, such as myself, James Schell, and veteran author John Morrison (of LOSIAS and SFFReview fame). But on the other, you’ll see diverse reporting penned by an ever-growing list of contributors: from first-time authors, to opinionated reviewers, to longstanding SFF community members.

Finally, a lot of the content we’ll write about and share will come directly from you, our readers, as we turn to SFF Forum to discover projects and events, and rely on that connection to maintain our hold on the pulse of the community. From featured build logs, to reporting on projects (and even interviews with project creators), some of the greatest developments in SFF come from within the community, and we can’t wait to give those stories the attention they deserve.

SFF truly has never been bigger, and it’s really quite exciting for us to be at a place in the industry that a lot of PC enthusiasts will find themselves at in the coming years. We’ve had so much fun following all of the latest forum threads, and writing up our debut articles, and we’re just thrilled to see where SFF Network and SFF Forum take us, and the small form factor community more broadly. I hope you’ll join us for the ride, and on behalf of all of us, I thank you for being a part of this crazy, interesting, and awesome online experiment.

But enough from me. Now, get reading!
