With the impeding retail launch of the NVIDIA 1660 series cards (ugh, naming schemes), we were expecting to see product pages appear. Lo and behold, MSI’s ITX cards in the family have appeared! The links to these cards were sent through our tip line – thanks!
Keeping the same shroud as the previous generation Aero cards, not much has changed on the outside. It’s the inside where things have iterated.
Both cards feature a 192 bit memory bus, are rated at 120W, and have a single layer of rear ports, with DisplayPort x 1 (v1.4), HDMI 2.0b, and DL-DVI-D. HDCP support is at 2.2 for those interested.
The differences lie in the core count, VRAM type, clocks and the weight. Firstly, the 1660 Ti has 1536 cores, with a boost clock of 1770MHz (no base clock given). The 1660, however, has 1406 cores with a faster boost to 1785MHz.
Secondly, the 1660 Ti has 6GB of GDDR6 with 12Gbps bandwidth, versus the 6GB of GDDR5 with 8Gbps for the 1660.
Finally, the 1660 Ti appears to have a slightly heftier cooling solution, with the card weighing in at 570g vs the 1660’s 561g. Not much, but that’s more thermal mass to cool the card.
