On February 6th, 2020, Dan of Dan Cases introduced his concept for his next-generation small form factor case. Called the C4-SFX, this case would support far larger graphics cards, cooling, and components than anything he had designed before. The goal was to have C4-SFX provide all of this while still being only approximately 14L in volume. Over three years of development later, Dan and his manufacturing partner Lian Li, are finally ready to launch.
The Lian Li manufactured DAN Cases designed C4-SFX is launching on May 16th, 2023, at 4PM, German time. You can purchase it through partners CaseKing, Overlockers UK, Orbit, and Dirac. Dan is currently working on setting up a New Egg shop, but US customers can order from Orbit and Overclockers UK. Also launching will be reviews by Linus Tech Tips, Hardware Canucks, Optimum Tech, and Computer Base. We will, of course, have coverage of the launch reviews.
The final price, as listed by Orbit is $222.00 (US). Of course that is subject to taxes, shipping, and import duties.
The specification for the C4-SFX are impressive. It comes in both black and silver made from a combination of 1.5mm thick aluminum and 1.2mm thick steel. The overall size is 253 (H) x 166 (W) x 350.2 mm(D) which equates 14.7L volume. The case supports up to 3.9 slot GPUs at 334mm in Length, and 3.5 slot GPUs at 336mm in length. For CPU cooling you can choose between up to 280mm radiator, or up to a 145mm air cooling solution. There is a list of recommended heatsinks and AIOs on the Dan Cases website. Motherboard support is ITX, DTX, and Deep-ITX.
You can visit THIS PAGE to see the full specs and compatibilities of the C4-SFX.
The C4-SFX is an inverted reverse ATX design. The GPU is at the top of the case, and the motherboard at the bottom of the case mounted upside and on the opposite side of a traditional ATX design. It’s actually similar to the old BTX standard. This allows for excellent GPU cooling. The bottom and rear of the case also feature venting and fan mounting positions. Radiators are mounted on a side bracket on the lower right side (if looking at the front of the case).
