So time for more photos!


Yes, dimensions are spot on! I also use larger screws so the cutouts are completely hidden, you nailed it!
I really like how it turned out, with some minor problems becuase I hadn't done this before. Let me explain: I used 1mm aluminum sheet for this construction. As you can see this proved to be too thin as the cover develops some degree of flex at the bottom (where the honeycomb pattern is) and it is generally flimsy. It is a little too weak. That is why I also tried it inverted, because that way the gap you see was gone. Of course I can bend it with my hands to try to get it in the right shape, will see. It is not a big deal, I just thought to mention it. Also the color is a bit off 😂. I told them I wanted it white, they said they have the RAL 9010 colour available and I said sure, go for it 😂. If I can describe it, the cover is a little more of a neutral white, while the rest of the case is a somewhat colder white. Again, not a big deal and something that occurred from inexperience. The pattern itself is amazing! It lets me watch my GPU, which is the cool part, while covering the rest. I could feel lots of hot air coming out of there while gaming, great! In hindsight, I would remove the last row of honeycomb holes (which seem to overlap with the case, as well as the two top ones, so the cutout would focus entirely on the GPU. Again this is from inexperience on my behalf, I should order an unpainted sample first since without painting it was about half the price and then do the final sample so I could correct minor stuff like that plus the thickness. The only disappointing part overall I think is the paint job, the quality is just not that great overall. Anyways since I finally found this guys who are willing to make the sidepanel, I might make a second attempt to fix the stuff above, plus paint it myself with a canister or something? I don't know 😂 It's only me who notices the small color inconsistency but again it is there 😂. I have also made more modifications to the build it self, I should make a post about them as well as the temperature testing that needs to be done. Today or tomorrow. Thank you again my friend for the time and effort you put into this! I have been building and customizing this PC since January and it has been a great journey so far!

So the difference in GPU temps with the new side panel on and off is about 1.5oC, which is within margin of error. Essentially I am achieving openbench temperatures.

Very good temperature results.
The lower honeycombs do look unnecessary. But I'd leave the two rows of upper vents. I think some of the hot air from the graphics card should escape through them due to natural convection.
If the cover is aluminum, then 1 mm is indeed too thin. I'd consider 2 mm. However, I think shipping is a bigger issue with a thin cover. It would be better to ask the manufacturer for packaging on a wooden backing, for example.
I'm familiar with the paint quality issue from my own projects. Although the defects aren't visible in the photo from a distance, upon close inspection the quality leaves much to be desired.

I will now sum up the changes I have made since I described my build in the first post, it's been a long way and I am getting close to call it finished except for one or two things I have in mind. So from bottom to top:

1) Custom feet. They look great and add a bunch of clearence for the GPU to breathe.

2) Anti dust filter. It can be seen in some photos, I applied a white mesh to every single opening in order to keep the interior nice and clean. The new side panel needs the same treatment.

3) GPU overhaul. This bad boy got a complete thermal overhaul. I ordered PTM7950 phase change material for the core and Uspiren UTP8 thermal putty for everything else. I can tell you this was the single best thing I could do. All the original thermal pads were removed. I replaced them with the putty and I also added it in places where I thought made sense, for example I took full advantage of the backplate by applying thermal putty at the back of the vrms (It now gets scorching hot). To keep it short, before the overhaul I would get 110oC (thermal throttling threshold) on the Hotspot at +17% power limit. Now I get 91-92oC at +20%, under full usage (without side panel and fans at max of course). The difference is insane. Thermals are no longer a concern for the GPU.

4) It is difficult to see but the SSD and RAM modules received the same treatment. Custom cases for both with Uspiren UTP8 thermal putty as a thermal conductor to keep them chill.

5) One major drawback of my motherboard was that it did not have wifi. I solved it by adding a wifi card with the appropriate ssd adaptor at the second ssd slot of my motherboard.

6) CPU now. I am still craving for that i5, I am stuck with the i3 for the moment but this change is the last big swap planned for this build, the i5 14600KF will soon go in there now that we maximised our thermal performance.

7) Regarding CPU cooling now, I changed the cooler fan for a phanteks t30 and also the top exhaust fan for a thermalright extrem. Both of these can spin up to 3000rpm, which is insane and pretty damn loud. I experimented with the absolute most raw performance I could get out of pc fans but I am certain now that the limit is the heatsink. It can only dissipate so much heat and this won't change even if I have an industrial blower blowing at it. Sadly, the custom shroud I made doesn't seem to make a difference either, none I could measure at least. It will stay on nonetheless since in theory it should provide more fresh air for the Cpu.

8) I almost forgot, I also cutout a bit of the case to make it possible to remove the GPU without disassembling everything. It is clear in the pictures what I did, now the GPU can slide in and out almost perfectly. The catch? I had to screw the gpu back port cover directly to the case. If I need to remove the gpu, I first unscrew the screws that connect the gpu to its back cover and then it can slide out. Yeah, I got it pretty damn close with the GPU clearence. Sadly this cut created a small gap between the side panel and the front panel, it is visible at the pictures with the side panel on. But I will figure a way to eliminate this eventually. Maybe gluing some rubber at the perimeter of the case to create a better seal and remove this gap? Will see.

That's about it, as I said it's been a wonderful journey making and customizing my dream pc and as I am watching the prices and everything going insane, I am glad I was able to do it!

Yeah it's small details like these that come from experience. But the painting issue is something that I don't know how to overcome. Anyways, If you ever happen to come to Greece for vacation or something, please let me know I would be really happy to meet you!

You've done a tremendous amount of painstaking work. I don't think I'd have the patience to fine-tune the computer so much to my liking🙃
If I ever travel to Greece, I'll definitely write to you and I'll be glad to meet you too.
