Rumor UserBenchmark Says that Ryzen 3600 is "4%" faster that Ryzen 2700x

The only reason it's that close is that the 2700x has two more cores than the 3600 (8 vs 6). Look at the single-core and quad-core comparisons, and also note that the 3600 might be hampered by RAM in the first 2 benchmarks.

I think the 3600's benchmarks are promising

Edit: I assume you're saying "AMD won't be happy" that the 3600 isn't performing as well as they implied, which is why I phrased my post as a debate. If you meant something else, then I can change the wording.

I meant the AMD won't be happy because the performance has leaked early

The 3600 is equivalent to the 8700k in performance which is frankly insane

Ooof. The 3600 is essentially on par in single threaded performance with i7-8700 [non k]. 3% is margin of error. And that's the weakest 7nm processor in their lineup.

I have some whispers that say that the overclocking is going to be great, like intel, but like intel, they will be hungry...

There was some leak about the 12 core having been gotten to 6Ghz under LN2, and that they were able to do 4.8Ghz on air, and 5.0Ghz on water with semi unreasonably high voltages. Then again, like all things, it could also be lies.

Saw that yesterday - it lines up with the claimed IPC that they showed at computex (ryzen 3000 should be same ipc as intel 8000/9000)

I think I would rather be able to do just 4.8Ghz as opposed to 4.9Ghz. The idea of being so closed to 5Ghz and not reaching it would lead me to do whatever it takes to get it lol. I also prefer a bronze medal to a silver medal.

I am eagerly awaiting results. Zen/Zen+ was not enough for me to jump, but Zen2 might be (if it performs better in gaming than my 7700k in SFF conditions - or specifically, with a l9i/l9a heatsink using the stock fan :D).
