I have a older cpu, i7-6700k from a atx build I did back in 2015 along with Corsair ram, the atx board quit working so I just have the cpu, ram, gpu, psu, & assorted cables. It's still a good cpu today for general office use, surfing the web, etc...I hate throwing it out because it's still useable so want to do a itx build because you can always use another office pc. I used the gpu in another pc so it would just be a mb, cpu, psu, & ssd.

However finding a board has been an issue, all pre-owned on eBay or Amazon, did find a refurbished one on NewEgg. Here in lies my question, in purchasing a pre-owned board do you always run the risk of someone hacking into your pc because they might have the IP address?

I think the answer is yes, but I'm not as knowledgeable as most on this forum & would like some clarification, learning the ins & outs of pc builds over time. Thanks for reading.
