Been a while since I have built/upgraded a PC, so bear with me.
I have a 3yo MSI Trident A 9SC, including a GF2060 GPU, 450w PSU, i7/9700CPU@3Ghz and a B360 MoBo.
I'm looking to upgrade the GPU to either a 30xx or 40xx. Probably going to use a Zotac 4060 Solo.
The Trident is SFF, so size is key. I know what dimensions I need to be under, and I am limited to 2 slots only.
The cards I am looking at are around the $500 range and most only require a singe 8pin, which is ok.
Part I am confused about is power. Most 4060 card manufacturers are recommending 650w plus. However, the TGP for these cards (115w) is LESS than my current 2060. Do I really need to upgrade the PSU...and why?
