Power Supply The HDPlex 160, 2200G and a wonky supply

Hi all, after reading more reviews of the 2200G I've come back to the HDPlkex as a viable contender.

Reviews I read seem to suggest a maximum load of 100W. The 160W HDPlex would appear comfortable for this.

However with natural deterioration of components in both the system and PSU that gap might close.

In such a situation is the 160W ceiling (peak 200W) enough leeway for say, 5 years of use?

Also this is for areas where electricity supply can be somewhat wonky - Power cuts every now and then. Would the HDPLex be particularly sensitive to such situations?

I don't know much about the components deterioration rate, but wonky electric supply is an enemy to any PSU.

I suggest to get a UPS as well. A basic (but a good one) should do.

From my experience, the HDPlex stuff should be pretty resilient to long term use - a lot of in line filtering in the plugs, AC-DC and DC-DC parts. Also, the latest gen HDPlex 160W is overbuilt - I've heard reports of 200W continuous being a happy maximum for the unit! (I can't test this as I don't have one to hand)
