Hello All,

I'm trying to do a tablet mini pc with a mini itx motherboard (acer veriton 4670gt : sodimm ram, 10/11th gen intel cpu, pcie express on the edge on the mb,wifi, 2 m2 slots etc).

I removed the mb from the acer case and i added a dell rx6500 low profile single slot gpu (it's a 6500m with a pcie). CPU + GPU combined : 85w.

I will probably put a 14" 16/10 screen on it because it fits the dimensions (external monitor then remove the case and keep the electronics in order to use usb/c to displayport cable) and will see how to do best with the connectors, and try to add a battery also if it fits + printed case.

But now i'm focused about the height, i'm struggling to find a smaller heatsink than the original because it's a 3 screw triangle fixation (like the hp and lenovo mini pc). I also wanted to remove the rj45/usb combo ports (i will save 2/3mm at least) but i don't know how to do it properly or if it's possible at all. Trying to have sub 3cm at the end.

I hope that i'm clear, and thanks in advance for your help !

Can you provide a top down image of the board? I'm not getting consistent results on google for reference.

Usually the best way to remove ports like that without causing damage is to de-solder. When there are bunch of little pins on a connector it can be difficult to accomplish this with a soldering iron but no impossible. A solder wick/sucker and some patience can work. The easier option is using a heat gun with flux to evenly heat the connections. You have to be careful not to heat up surrounding component to much. Practice on a dead motherboard or something before trying the part you care about.

Good luck with your project!

I will sell my 4670gt and i bought the jw h610p motherboard, it will be easier with this solution. WIll fit a i3 12100f for the moment. I just need to find what psu needs the motherboard (4 pin 10mm connector 19v). I ordered the screen, waiting for delivery.

I also need to confirm that the JW H610P have a 115x socket fixation or a LGA1700 one, in order to add the good cpu heatsink.

Heatsink is 115x/1200 footprint.
Recommend this heatsink. Works well, very thin.

If using JW H610 I had to cut down a little plastic of CMOS battery holder. Make sure it has clearance for heatsink.

Power connector if you can solder it. Use any PSU with 19v https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800396801176.html

I can recommend Dell/Alienware HA240PM200 . It is a 240w Gallium Nitride (GaN) slim charger and it ran an i5-12500t with 4060 low profile just fine for me. Around $30-40 https://www.ebay.com/itm/276477218191

I checked some feedbacks and it seems that the polarity is correct (compared to your previous picture). 14" portable monitor received, easy to disassemble (basically a laptop screen with a conversion board). Heatsink ordered (the one you mentioned milesvw). Most of the items will be there next week.

I checked some feedbacks and it seems that the polarity is correct (compared to your previous picture).
I pulled out the multi-meter and the voltage on JW H610i shows as my picture (Same as my B360-PIO as well).
The two bottom pins (they are closer to each other) are connected to the ground of the back ports, and the CPU fan ground.
The two top pins (they are spread farther apart) are connected to +V at the 20A fuse (White with gold ends, just behind the power socket.)

The one you linked seems to be backwards for a TV.
But since there is a barrel jack you can use something like this screw on barrel jack to fix it quite easily: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C61434H

EDIT: If you are cutting off the cable end to change polarity, you can use any power supply. Dell has 150w and Lenovo 135w, also 170w. I got a Lenovo 135w for $5 at the second-hand store this week!

Just to allay any doubt, I suggest you check with a meter too https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800207842148.html :

Update months after :
I changed the mb for a mx610hd (12v-24v range, DC 5,5x2,5 plug, esp embedded port).

Now the build is working with a 100w powerbank, and it seems that everything will fit under the 14" display (rx6500+mb+powerbank). I need to find out about the câbles and the case now. Weight seems to be around 1.5kg. Thickness for a v1 will be high i think.

I cant make the edp/lvds combo port to work even if i activated it on the bios (trying with the egpu).

I also need a riser 4.0 for the gpu in order to put the fan on the same side as the CPU.
