SFF.Network Supermicro at Computex 2018

Our thanks to SilverStone for sponsoring SFF Network’s on-the-ground coverage of Computex 2018!

Walking through the hectic show halls of Computex 2018 towards another meeting, we spied something a little different from the traditionally server focused Supermicro. A consumer orientated M-ITX board? Let's have a look!

SM tends to list new boards on top of each page, for example: https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/ATOM/

The new ones are in the first block. I just got this one myself: https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/atom/A2SDi-H-TF.cfm

Great board with 12x SATA on-board + M.2 PCIe (sadly only 2 lanes), one PCIe x4 and 2x *10* gig ethernet (RJ45) with 8-cores/threads. They also make one with 16 cores and 4x 10 gig (RJ45 and SFP+). Only downside is very limited USB ports, but I'm solving that with a PCIe card. Also added an LSI controller for additional 8 SATA ports for a grand total of 20 ports :)
