I actually have an Asrock J5005 fanless based Linux Morex 557B box build uses a 30W Toshiba laptop brick for power with wide input DC-DC, surprisingly good performance and full 4k capable, the newer J5040 ups the clock speed further(older j4000 series in the vid). Also recommend pcie to m.2 SATA adapter card over a 2.5" size drive, about all you can do with the X1 slot is use the power and shrink the size further. Have used my RPI3 on the road with folding keyboard and a mouse using room hdmi TV for monitor, works good enough and fun for other projects.
