Question: Has anyone successfully modded the single slot GALAX GTX 1070 to shorter lengths? If it fit, that would make this the ultimate portable gaming rig.

This is the mobo I've been dreaming of !

I love the concept : I'm running the exact same configuration but with a Gigabyte H110 thin mini-itx board, which has a PCIe X4 slot only.
I power both the system and a 1050 Ti with a single 12V brick.

@Hifihedgehog Thanks for sharing.
The only way to mod the Katana would be to water-cool it, since it has a short PCB.
You would end up with an external rad on top of the case.

EDIT : only USB2 connectors on the IO...
