AMD’s excellent RX 9070XT has dropped to $629 at Micro Center after spiking to roughly $1,000 in recent times. Even better, this is the SFF friendly PowerColor Reaper model that measures in at 2-slots in width (42mm) and 304mm in length, and packs a full 16GB of VRAM.
 


Ghost S1 owners might want to take a look at this one as it comes within 1mm of the GPU length limit for the case, but should fit. If you’re running this card in a Ghost S1, please post in the comments below and lets us know your experience.

What's a Microcenter?

JK, shame we don't have that store here. That card's not even available here in NZ. The closest equivalent (dual slot PowerColour) is the 9070 GRE at NZ$1078 (US$626). Cheapest of any of the 9070 XTs is sitting at NZ$1420 (US$826)

I’m lucky to have one so close. The deals there are excellent. You could build a 270K, 32GB DDR5, RX 9070XT rig from then right now for less than $1500 US.

I’m tempted to get the card, but I do also enjoy being able to have food not from a can…

I'm in the US but the closest Microcenter to me is 1,100 miles, maybe one day they will build one in the Pacific Northwest.

It was like that for me for years. I made a pilgrimage of sorts to one in Boston for my first visit. Didn’t buy anything, but it was neat to see. They are expanding though.

Their deals are generally good, and it’s nice to see cases in person. That said, the stores can feel a bit disorganized, and most of the rest of their stuff is priced the same as online. I do enjoy the throwback feeling to CompUSA and Computer City when I go there though.

I worked at a Comp USA in the late 90s. It was a fun place. Lots of neat tech. I was there for the launch of the original iMac.
