Hi everyone, this is my first post and I’m looking for some advice.
I’m searching for a new case for my current system. I don’t have many strict criteria, but I do have a specific vision:
I’m looking for a slim/compact case. I plan to use a top-down (top-blow) CPU cooler because I want to mount a Lian Li LCD fan on it. Therefore, the section of the side panel over the CPU must be tempered glass so the display is visible.
However, for the area where the GPU sits, I would prefer mesh or ventilation openings so the graphics card doesn't dump all the hot air inside the case. My GPU is a Gigabyte RX 7900 XT Gaming OC, which is 332mm long. My CPU is an i5-12600K. I also use a SFX PSU.
I saw the Sharkoon MS-Y1000 or MS-Z1000. The case makes a great impression, and the review on TechPowerUp was very positive as well. The only thing bothering me is that the fan cutouts are too small. However, I’m already considering using a Dremel to enlarge them myself.
Does anyone have recommendations for an other case that fits this 'hybrid' side panel style (glass for CPU, mesh for GPU) and can accommodate a GPU of this length?"
I am also looking for a suitable CPU cooler that fits this case. The Sharkoon case allows for a maximum clearance of 135mm. The cooler must be compatible with a Lian Li LCD fan. This means it needs to support a 120mm or 140mm frame width and must have a screw-mount system, as standard fan clips rarely fit 28mm-thick fans.
