Hey guys, A friend of mine asked me to build his new pc and let's go with a cool small form factor.

Features request:

1. NO gaming (well, a couple of non demanding games)
2. Durable
3. WiFi capable out of the box

Which motherboard would you put inside this new 1300X baby?

Agree that Asrock's B350 ITX is the best buy. Cheapest, good RAM compatibility, good layout, decent overclocker (I can get my 1300X to 4GHz but I lowered it to 3.9 to keep voltage under 1.3v and minimise heat).

ASUS's B350 ITX strix does look good, but is more expensive. Also, not sure if this applies to the ITX models but the X370F Strix has ram compatibility issues (not able to run at default speeds. Kits I tested were Team Vulcan 3000/C16 and G.Skill trident Z 3200/C16)

1200 clocks the same, runs cooler and uses less power..........and costs less with a cooler thrown in.............

My asus z370 board went up in smoke last week. Not sure what caused it as the cpu is still fine. But that’s the second asus board I’ve had go out so I think I’ll take a break from them for a while. Asus makes some really nice stuff my old 87 deluxe is still hammering away but it’s gotten to the point now that they just throw the name rog on every little piece of crap they make and slap lights all over and push it off as some extreme gaming model.
