Hi all, just purchased myself a Rog Strix b450-i and am hoping to use the m.2 for a nvme drive. My knowledge here is fairly limited- hence my question.

Will using the m2 slot reduce my pci-e capabilities (i.e cripple my 1070) due to lack of lanes or the suchlike?

Sorry for the stupid.

Thanks,

Mat

This is taken from Asus product page, "The M.2_2 slot shares with PCIE x16. When M.2_2 slot runs in PCIE mode, the PCIE x16 slot will run at x8 mode."

This is only noted for the M.2_2 not the M.2_1 which will run either SATA or NVMe.

Ryzen has PCIe 3.0 x4 just for the M.2, I think it will only take from the GPU if you have more than one.
