It's been 7-8 years since SFF Network finalised on the aesthetic we've all grown accustomed to. This long-lived theme was developed as a team effort between the original team - @PlayfulPhoenix, @jeshikat and I.
A few years back, I took sole ownership of SFF Network, to help keep it alive and keep this fantastic resource out there for the community. Whilst the site costs me personally each month to fund the server and other accoutrement, it's something I'm happy to keep doing. When I took ownership, I started development of a new theme to refresh the SFF Network brand. The loss of my day job at the time, as well as a few other personal events, put this on the backburner.
Over the 2025 year-end holiday period, I revived the project, with an eye to getting the new look launched at the end of January 2026 - and here we are.
I've now set the new theme to be the default. We do also have, as before, a Dark Blue, a Light Red, a Light Blue and a Blackout variant of the theme. These are easily selected at the bottom left of the website.
Apologies if the Dark Blue, Light Red, Light Blue, Blackout or (bleaugh) RGB themes were your current selection - I was unable to selectively apply the new themes to individual members.
The original themes will remain available for those nostalgic amongst us. Again, they can be selected from the same menu at the bottom left of the page - they're denoted with the "Classic" tag.
Please let me know if you have any issues with the new theme(s)!
A special request for users with accessibility issues - please DM me if you encounter any issues in accessing, reading or creating content. I'm more than happy to work with you to update the new themes to help, or create a new accessible theme(s).
