Memory ram for ryzen 3000?

I looked up the corsair dominator platinum and there is a kit specifically for AMD. Im not really into the whole rgb scene and was wondering if the non amd kit would work.

Yes the non AMD kit will work, and according to AMD the sweet spot for ram speed is 3600mhz, but no higher than 3733mhz, anything higher amd the interconnect between the memory controller and the infinity fabric goes from 1:1 to 2:1 which increase latency.

i dont have to go 32 gb. 16 gb should be enough really for 3d modeling, right?

Really depends on what your modeling, I use solidworks on my Lenovo y510p and its only got 16 GB of LPDDR3 and it does just fine until my part counts get into the hundreds, and thats not necessarily just the rams fault, its a pretty old laptop. Its still useable too it just doesn't like when I try to move alot of parts at once.
