Hi guys, new to SFF PC's and having a hard time finding PSU options to look at.

Is there a resource/list anywhere of recommendations and reviews?

I can find lots of info/reviews about SFX PSU's such as Corsair SF600/450 etc, but I'm struggling to find anything about smaller options such as Flex or TFX.

I haven't decided yet what kind of PSU I want, I just like browsing different sizes and recommendations so I can get an idea of what's available.

Sorry if I'm missing an obvious PSU thread somewhere here. Maybe I'm just blind :)

PC partpicker is a start, Amazon can be a source. Otherwise its specialist shops

decide on your pc power requirements spec and look in that range, but if you go over 400W the choice is very limited. And you have to make sure your required connectors are covered. They also tend to be very noisy.

FSP group, inwin, be quiet, silverstone, seasonic all make varying sizes of power supply - TFX, flex atx, itx. The inwin chopin case comes with its own itx power supply. These power supplies are ok. shuttle xpc (tfx) goes to 500W, and there are various other power supplies you can find.

There are HP and supermicro power supplies for servers that are 1U and up with/without redundancy that can have high power, but these are/tend to be expensive, and noisy

SFX is only now going up to 800W ( I have one), and only has one eps so you cannot run some bigger motherboards

On this site you will find the meanwell ac dc (or external brick) and various dc dc specialist converters - hd plex, pico psu etc but again these dont seem to go much over 400. These are in fairly common use in the sff community. There are lots of threads here with suggestions and recommendations.

I dont know about recommendations, I mostly use seasonic and silverstone. I do have several no name small power supplies that function quite nicely, but Im pretty sure no one would buy them if they saw them.

Its a caveat emptor at this level,

Yeah 300w is probably fine. Maybe looking at 350/400w.

If I can't find anything I like in the 'extra small size' range, I'll probably just go for a Corsair SF450

Sounds like a couple of flex atx may suit you: Silverstone's FX350-G or a modded one from Geeek

Else you can look to source HDPlex's discontinued 300w AC-DC, join the line for their long awaited 400w AC-DC, or go deep and play with meanwell's units (eg: RPS-400-12-C)

I would like to join that topic. Im looking into buying a flex atx psu for my Custom_Mod Fx Stl 4.7l case. I recently bought the Silverstone fx350-g psu but i returned it since it was way to noisy in idle mode (maybe defective unit). I guess fan noise is a problem in general which can be handled with a 40mm noctua fan.
Im not sure which power supply is the better choice:

- Seasonic SS-250SU (80+ Bronze)
- Seasonic SSP-300SU (80+ Gold + Modular + modding of cables for additional 6pin pcie power required)
- Silverstone FX350-G (80+ Gold + shortening of cables required)

All require a noctua 40mm fan. I find the modular approach of the SSP-300SU quite attractive for sff builds but it requires rewiring which the Fx350-g does not (only shortening).

Not sure If the Seasonic models got such a agressive fan curve like the silverstone psu too.

Im as well considering using my Pico 160-xt + 192w again for not externally powered gpus. That thing is silent.

Thanks
